這次比賽，我們特別邀請了來自英國的 Gisella 老師，從「母語者的角度」陪伴 Agnes 每週練習，真正理解每個字句背後的情緒與語氣。唯有理解，才能自然流暢地展現作品，不死背、不做作！
特別是羅道爾這篇故事裡那些美麗又押韻的形容詞，對孩子的舌頭與節奏都是挑戰，需要花不少時間練習語感與咬字，才不會「卡住」而影響整體表現。
比賽前兩堂課老師家中有事臨時取消，M老師（媽媽我）又重出江湖，甚至在母親的病房外也照練不誤；就在比賽前一天，發現她的英詩穩穩的，但散文部分還需調整，於是展開超速衝刺集訓！
最終，努力結出了甜美的果實。八歲的她，今年榮獲：
全台的 8-10 歲組 🏅Prose Reading 第一名🏅Verse Speaking 第二名
謝謝主辦單位 Harmony Tree International 舉辦如此有意義的比賽，讓孩子有機會站上舞台，自信地進行公開演說，這不只是競賽，更是一種從小培養的勇氣與表達力！

Agnes’ English Speech Festival Highlights✨2025 Harmony Tree International Speech Festival ✨Prose Reading & Verse Speaking Performance Video
Speech is not just about saying words～it’s about comprehension, feeling, and expressing.
To prepare, Agnes worked weekly with her British tutor, Gisella, who guided her to explore each piece from a native speaker’s perspective. We believe true understanding creates natural expression - not memorized gestures.
Roald Dahl’s prose was full of beautifully rhymed adjectives—a tongue-twisting challenge! It took extra practice to deliver them smoothly and with the right rhythm and tone.
When her tutor had to cancel the final two classes due to personal issues, “Mom-teacher Miss M” jumped in again. We even rehearsed outside my mother's hospital room! The night before the contest, we realized her poem was solid, but her prose needed more polishing, so we went into a very last-minute training mode!
All the hard work paid off:Age 8–10, Taiwan Division🏅 1st Place in Prose Reading 🏅 2nd Place in Verse Speaking
