看吃播學英文第5集—大庭廣眾下殺人無罪？
這次吃的是雪莉自己做的韓式辣燉雞 닭도리탕，食譜連結都有放在說明處，快來跟我一起吃飯！今天的故事像小說一樣勁爆。當時紅到西方各國，卻被從中國社群媒體大量移除的殺人案，50個目擊證人犯人卻沒有入獄！最後搞定的人是蝙蝠俠嗎？這次不只講故事始末，還告訴你這個案子為什麼會被官方掩蓋。

翻譯：水母決定再次攻擊我。
amputate (v.) cut off a limb by surgical operation截肢
影片用句： Last week, they tried to strangle me. This week, they tried to amputate my arm.
翻譯：上個禮拜它們試圖勒死我。這個禮拜它們試圖把我的手臂截肢。
breakdown (n.) a sudden collapse in someone's mental health 精神崩潰
影片用句：I was having a total breakdown.
翻譯：我完全陷入精神崩潰。
road rage (n.) sudden violent anger provoked in a person operating a vehicle by the actions of another driver 公路爆怒症
這個詞原先中文是沒有的，完全是英文翻譯而來。其實就是指有些人開車的時候特別容易暴怒，這股怒火就特別被稱為road rage.
影片用句：Today’s story is kind of about road rage, too.
翻譯：今天的故事也跟公路爆怒症有關。
pedestrian (n.) a person walking rather than travelling in a vehicle 路人
影片用句：I was shouting at pedestrians on the bike trail.
翻譯：我都對在自行車專用道上的行人吼叫了。
補充：這句話的直譯只有：我在 (過去的某一段時間) 在對自行車專用道上的行人吼叫。如果有看影片的前後文就可以理解為什麼這邊譯作「都」，代表連這樣的小事我都不能接受了。
chit-chat (n.) conversation that is not important 閒聊
影片用句：By the way, if you guys don’t like to listen to our chit-chat and want to skip forward, I always put in the description what time the story starts.
翻譯：對了，如果你們不喜歡聽我們的閒聊並且想要跳過，我都會在說明裡面註記故事從影片的什麼時間開始。
telenovela (n.) 拉丁美洲電視小說劇
西班牙文的「電視」和「小說」兩個字的結合，其實就是拉丁美洲的連續劇。內容通常超級灑狗血，比韓劇和鄉土劇都還誇張。雖然有時候很荒謬但雪莉個人覺得超級好看。
影片用句：It’s so crazy that I just had to talk about it. It’s like a telenovela.
翻譯：這瘋狂到我一定要講這個故事，像拉丁美洲電視小說劇一樣。
amnesia (n.) loss of memory 失憶症
影片用句：The main guy has had amnesia, he has been in a car accident, he has had amnesia three times, he’s… I don’t know.
翻譯：男主角已經得了失憶症、經歷了車禍、得失憶症得了三次，他… 我不知道。
補充：不管是全面的失憶、暫時的失憶、或是部分遺忘的失憶都是用這個字。
binge (v.) excessively consume something; indulge in an activity 爆量的攝取某樣東西；無節制的沉浸於一種活動
影片用句：I was sleeping at 5am every day, just binging this story.
翻譯：當時我每天都凌晨五點才睡覺，一直在狂看這個故事。
補充：這個字本來用在暴飲暴食，後來衍生出沉浸在一直做某件事的意思。之前有遇過學生說其他老師教他追劇就是binge watch. 並不是，除非你一次看完一整季，一天看一兩集的追劇完全跟binge 扯不上關係。一定要是同一種娛樂活動你一次做得比別人異常的多才叫binge。如果是一次看很多部同系列的電影，則會用marathon，例如： I was doing a Star Trek marathon.

veer (v.) change direction suddenly 突然改變方向
影片用句：They kind of veered towards the right.
翻譯：他們快速的稍微向右改變方向。
riled up (adj.) made to be very angry 被惹怒的
rile up (v.) to make agitated and angry 激怒、惹怒
影片用句：There’s no need to get so riled up.
翻譯：沒必要被氣成這樣。
mumble (v.) say something indistinctly and quietly, making it difficult for others to hear 嘟囔
影片用句：She mumbles under her breath and she gets into the car.
翻譯：她低聲地嘟囔了一句然後上車。
pertinent (adj.) relevant to a particular matter 針對某特定事情相關的

翻譯：這跟故事的進展非常相關。
disproportionate (adj.) too large or too small in comparison with something else 不成比例的

翻譯：多到不成比例的警察出現。
補充：這句話本身只有「數量不成比例的警察出現」的意思，但如果有看影片的前後文就會知道是很多而不是很少。
witness (n.) someone who saw something, typically a crime, happen 目擊者

翻譯：目擊者說他們看到她的腦子被攆出來。
severely (adv.) to an undesirably great or intense degree 非常嚴重地
